There are a number of different things to look out for when choosing your wedding photographer, firstly make sure you meet photographers face to face before the big day, you need to know who you’ll be working with, it is important that you get along as he will spending the whole day with you and you will need to be able to work together. Secondly make sure that on your visit you take a look at their portfolio, do you like their pictures?, do they bring out the feelings and emotions of the day? Are they clear and free of any glares of light? Lastly before your meeting make a list of questions that you would like to ask, things that you would like to cover. And before you go make sure you know exactly what you are looking for.

1. Will you be the photographer that will be taking our pictures on the day? If not can I meet them and take a look at their portfolio.  
2. Do you have a contract in place? If not can you have one drawn up? If there is a contract, can we go through it together?
3. Do you work alone or will you be bringing an assistant?
4. What type of equipment do you use? Do you bring any back up equipment should anything go wrong?
5. How far are you willing to travel before you start charging? Are you willing to travel to two venues?
6. What style of wedding pictures do you take? Creative, Traditional mixed? Do you shoot in black and white, colour or both?
7. How long have you been a wedding photographer? How many Weddings have you attended?
8. Do you have Professional Indemnity Insurance?
9. What exactly is included in the package? Make sure you know what is included the price.
10. How long after the wedding will the photos be ready?
