I am sure we have all read this story  in the Daily Mail; Just a few week ago newly weds  Ben Alty and his new bride Karolina Nowakowska, had a wedding day that costs them only £1000 andweddingDM2_203x150 had their wedding reception in their garage!  The couple wanted to have a special day with all the romance and magic but not get into any debt. which is what they did! and here’s how:

  • £30 for her wedding gown from a Cancer Research shop
  • The brides hair and make-up was done by a family friend
  • Ben paid £75 for a five-piece cream bespoke suit
  • The wedding breakfast was held at Ben’s parents house, which included 25 guests and five course meal
  • The reception was held in Ben and Karolina’s garage, with an £80 hire marquee
  • The wedding cake was baked by a friend
  • Relations became serving staff, during the wedding breakfast
  • Cutlery and wine glasses were picked up at car boot sales
  • £250 on champagne and other alcohol

The couple had a wonderful and said they wouldn’t have changed a thing!

A wedding is about your vows and declaring your love for one another and not about the amount of money or size of the wedding, which I think a lot people forget, but at the same time I don’t think I would want my family to be used as serving staff!

What are your opinions on this? would you sacrafice your dream wedding venue for your garage?
