Choosing Your Wedding Dress

It’s your wedding day, the day that you’ve been dreaming about all your life, so you want to look and feel like a princess, so choosing the right dress is important, your wedding day will also be a long day, so you want to feel comfortable.

Firstly, think about the time of year your wedding will be in, this will affect the style and fabric of the dress that you choose.

For a summer wedding, you want light fabrics such as chiffon that won’t be too heavy and cling to you in the heat; also a good choice would be sleeveless or short sleeved gowns.  For the winter, warmer thicker fabrics such as satin are best, along with a faux fur shrug or wrap or white jacket.

Remember your dress doesn’t have to be white , choose a shade that will compliment your skin tone, so if your quite pale don’t choose a pure white dress, look at off white, ivory or cream.  A lot of brides these days are forgetting about white all together and going for bold colous’ like Reds, or soft pinks or soft gold’s.  If you’re having a themed wedding such as medieval your dress is going to be completely different.  Your wedding dress can be truly unique to you.

There are a number different wedding dress shapes out there for you to choose from, so choose one that suits your body shape, try on a few different styles to see which on you prefer.  Remember the best dress will highlight your good features and draw attention away from your least favorite parts.

The silhouette is a huge part of what makes the shape of your dress and can range from the traditional full, ball gown to a more modern sleek column dress.  Remember try on a few to see which you feel more comfortable with.

Next think about the neckline, the neckline you choose will draw attention to your upper body, so again think about your good and bad features.  A wide range of necklines are available from V neck to halterneck and round neck to strapless.  When you go to look for your dress ask, which one would be recommended for you!

Once you have completed your dress, you then have to think about veil and other head dresses, if you choose to have them that is.  Veils come in different lengths and sizes and can have different types of edges, including jewels.  You may choose to wear a tiara or perhaps a flower (real or artificial)  or jeweled hair clips.
